Nirvanna the Band the Show has a simple premise: two lovable idiots with a band called Nirvanna the Band (no they haven't heard of the other Nirvana) try, every episode, in Pinky & the Brain fashion, to get a show at the Rivoli; a very run of the mill venue in Toronto.
Except every episode veers them off track into a maniacally funny plan, wherein Matt and Jay, the two bandmates (they're the only two in the band) execute absurd schemes in public using the real citizens of Toronto as the backdrop and sometimes helpless participants. Except the joke is never on them.
The series has been called "one of the best shows ever made" by Justin Roiland, co-creator of Rick and Morty, and "the best Canadian TV show in the past two decades" by the National Post.
It is also Executive Produced by Spike Jonze.
