Tripping Out was produced in collaboration with Arts and Crafts Records and FACTOR Arts Grants, and it brought a very simple concept revolving around Canadian arts to life: Take a Canadian musician and bring them somewhere in the country they've never been before.
Patrick McGuire directed 3/4 episodes, including taking Mac Demarco to Dawson City, Yukon — home of the gold rush — to play an incredibly well received show and immerse himself in the arts community there.
The series also brought Rich Kidd, a Toronto rapper/producer, to Iqaluit, Nunavut, to play a show in a yurt, set up in the tundra, 5km away from the nearest town.
