Living with Jaguars is a massive VR project that Patrick McGuire co-directed with Orlowski (Chasing Coral), which embeds its user inside of the Brazilian Pantanal, home of one of the largest concentrations of jaguars in the world.

In the Pantanal, a unique conservation experiment is taking place. It's a region that is predominantly and historically known for cattle ranching, but jaguars are an enemy to cattle. When jaguars eat cattle, ranchers kill jaguars.

So an NGO called Panthera has stepped in to buy up ranches, train ranchers to breed tougher cattle, and to institute ecotourism to diversify the economy.

This VR experience explores the pros and cons of that experiment.

Living with Jaguars premiered at SXSW 2018 and was showcased at TIFF in April 2018.
