Justin Payne is an incredibly divisive character. Drywaller by day, vigilante pedophile hunter by night, Payne spends his free time luring predatory men into chats with children of his own creation with the intent of setting up a real life encounter. When he's successful, these men come to parking lots across Ontario thinking they are meeting a minor, but instead they are greeted by Payne; screaming in their face, and filming them with a camcorder.

Canada's Original Vigilante Pedophile Hunter is an exceptionally uncomfortable documentary that provides up close vérité access to Payne, flinching only to sit down with clinical psychologist Dr. James Cantor of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, who provides context around the condition of pedophilia.

This film premiered at Hot Docs in Toronto and was directed by Shawney Cohen. It is also based off of the enterprising reporting of Manisha Krishnan.
