In 2016, Patrick McGuire and VICE Canada sent Ben Makuch, national security reporter, to Ukraine to track the proxy war going on between Russia and the West on the frontlines of Ukraine.

This apparent escalation to Cold War-esque tensions is seen no more painfully than in Ukraine. Our documentary paid particular attention to Canada's paradoxical arms-length involvement in the conflict.
